ABOUT GROUPS OFFERED AT LOTUS

Groups at LOTUS are kept to a minimum number of participants, no more than 10. Each group is uniquely designed to meet the needs of our clients. Group facilitators have specialized training to facilitate the groups offered at LOTUS.  LOTUS offers both open and closed groups, specific to the nature of the group concept.

Women's Empowerment Group

We all have a sense of self. Whether that sense of self is positive or negative is based upon our experiences in life and our perceptions and assessment of ourself.  This group is for women who seek to improve their sense of self, including increasing self confidence, self awareness and self efficacy. This group is an 8 week closed group, offered several times throughout the year.  

Vision Board Workshops

A Vision Board is a tool used to help clarify, concentrate and maintain focus on specific life goals.  This workshop includes introduction to mindfulness and all the necessary supplies to create a poster sized vision board.   Workshops are 2.5 hours in length. There is a $25 fee for participation in a Vision Board Workshop.

Rape Survivors Support Group

This group is an 8 week closed group strictly for individuals who have experienced sexual assault.. Anyone interested in participating in this group must first meet with a therapist at LOTUS to determine readiness for the group setting.    

Domestic Violence Education 

This is a 26 week course structured in the Duluth Model. It is an ongoing, open group, meeting for men only, offered at several different times during the week and on Saturdays to accommodate most work schedules. Participants in this group are often adjudicated through the court, but that is not a requirement to attend this group.  Court assessed fees apply.  Groups are offered for both men and women separately, as well as, for Spanish speaking clients.  

Survivor Violence Education

Survivor Violence Education is a 26 week course structured in the Duluth Model.  It is an open, ongoing group for women onl.y, who find themselves reacting with violence in their relationships.  Many of the participants in this group are adjudicated through the court, however, it is not a requirement to participate in this group. Court assess fees apply.

Parenting Challenges

Families come in all different sizes and shape, and with those differences come also some challenges.  This is a closed 8 week group for education and support of challenging parenting experiences.  Challenges addressed, but are not limited to co-parenting, navigating custody exchanges, discipline for children navigating two homes, as well as communicating with your child. * Grandparent in the role of parent are welcome.
